Follow-Up Meeting in Frankfurt

Hello Everyone,

quite some time has passed since the EEC took place in Bochum. Now we want to meet again to look back at the congress, what we learned and what has changed in the meantime.

We also want to use this opportunity to compile a documentation about the workshops, discussions, the organisation and the time in between.

The Follow-Up meeting will take place from December 4th to December 7th in Frankfurt. If you are able to come, we welcome you, but kindly ask that you fill out the form below.

EEC is coming up!

From May 25th to May 30th, the European Education Congress 2010 will take place in Bochum, Germany.  This international congress will critically engage with the status quo and current developments of the education system in Europe, both on a participatory political and an analytic theoretical level.

If you want to come, your travel expenses can be reimbursed up to a certain amount. However, this is only possibleif you sign up before Sunday, 16th of May.  Later sign ups can, of course, still come to the congress, but will unfortunately not be eligible for travel reimbursements.

The preliminary program is online and can be downloaded. However, we still accept your contributions, and will announce them with flyers and boards near the infopoint.

We hope seeing you in Bochum soon.

Preparatory Meeting in Bochum

We are pleased to invite you to the third and final official preparation meeting, which will take place in Bochum on May 8th and 9th. During this meeting we plan to discuss the final points necessary to guarantee the success of the project and allocate exactly what still needs to be done.

Preparatory Meeting in Barcelona

We are pleased to invite you to the second official preparation meeting, which will take place in Barcelona on April 17th and 18th. During this meeting we plan to discuss the programme of the congress, communication, mobilisation, and the logistics of the project.

Preparation Meeting Paris 12th February

We invite everybody to take part in the first official preparation meeting.
It will take place at the University Paris-Sorbonne on February 12th, from 10 am till 5 pm.
We plan a general discussion with the following topics: aims, communication, mobilisation, finance and organisation of the project.
If you want to participate in the prep meeting, just send an e-mail with your name, e-mail address, country + place of residence and date of birth to accounting@educationcongress.eu.
If you need the reimbursement of your travel costs, please add this in your registration mail, including the approx. travel costs.
By the way: You can write us in English, German, French or Spanish.

Next pre-preparation meeting

The next meeting in order to plan the preparation meetings and the Congress will take place in Frankfurt/Main.

The date is January 29th. We meet at the AStA (general students` comitee)  of the Goethe University at 5 pm.

Nächste Vorbereitungstreffen

Das nächste Plaungstreffen findet parallel zum Bildungsstreik-Treffen am 20.12. um 13:00 Uhr in Potsdam statt. Informationen zum Bildungsstreik-Treffen findet ihr hier.

Das erste internationale Vorbereitungstreffen wird aller Voraussicht nach im Februar stattfinden.

Einladung zum Vorbereitungstreffen in Münster

Liebe Interessierten,

wir möchten euch herzlich zum nächsten Vorbereitungstreffen des europäischen Bildungskongresses, der vom 1. bis 6. Juni in Bochum stattfinden soll, einladen.

Dieses findet statt am Sonntag, den 18. Oktober, ab 14 Uhr in Münster am Ende des bundesweiten Bildungstreffens. Ort: Baracke in Münster (Bushaltestelle “Platz der weißen Rose”)

Wegbeschreibung vom Hauptbahnhof aus: Mit der Buslinie 4 Richtung Alte Sternwarte oder mit der Buslinie 10 Richtung Waldweg bis zur Bushaltestelle “Platz der weißen Rose”. Die Fahrt dauert 9 Minuten.

Einladung zum Orga-Treffen 11./12.09. Bochum

European Education Congress 2010

Chancenungleichheit, mangelhafte Inhalte, schlechte Lern- und
Lehrbedingungen: Nicht erst der letzte Bildungsstreik hat gezeigt: Im
bundesdeutschen Bildungssystem liegt einiges im Argen. Allerhöchste
Zeit also, sich auch theoretisch einmal mit Bildung, dem
Bildungssystem und Wegen aus dieser Bildungsmisere zu beschäftigen.
Dies kann allerdings nicht nur bundesweit geschehen, denn spätestens
seit Bologna sprechen wir in der Hochschulpolitik damit über einen
europäischen Rahmen und auch in der Schulpolitik lassen sich mit
Schulzeitverkürzung und Co immer weitere europäischen
Angleichungstendenzen feststellen.

Zusammen wollen wir daher eine Woche nutzen, uns einen theoretisch
fundierteren Blick auf das Bildungssystem zu werfen, Erfahrungen mit
Problemen andere Länder austauschen und gemeinsame Alternativen und
deren Umsetzung entwickeln.

Daher bietet sich ein europäischer Bildungskonkress an, der zum einen
den Raum zur inhaltlichen Beschäftigung mit der Thematik bietet zum
anderen aber auch die Chance gibt, Zukunftsperspektiven zu entwickeln.

Wenn ihr Lust habt den Kongress mit uns zu planen, kommt am 11.09 um
18Uhr zum gemeinsamen Verfassen eines Aufrufs und/ oder am 12.09 um
10h zur weiteren Kongressvorbereitung in den AStA der Ruhr Uni Bochum.

Solltet ihr nicht aus der Nähe kommen, ist das natürlich auch kein
Problem, dann wär`s super wenn ihr uns vorher Bescheid sagen könntet,
damit wir Schlafplätze u. Ä.organisieren können.

Für die, die noch nie an der Uni Bochum waren, hier eine kleine
Anfahrtsbeschreibung:
Nehmt vom Bochumer HBF aus die U35 richtung Hustadt/Querenburg bis zur
Haltestelle Ruhruniversität, geht dann rechts über die Bücke und dann
nochmal rechts, sobald ihr von der Brücke runter seid.
